About Rote
Rote is the frontier deployer of AI for South African and UK businesses. Most businesses are stuck in the AI discovery zone: they know AI could help, but haven't worked out where, let alone built it. Rote takes them out of it and turns AI into full working systems. It is run by Jake Backhouse from Cape Town, South Africa.
The name says what it does. Every business has rote work: the chasing, the copying, the reminders and the monthly reports that have to happen but earn nothing. Rote finds that work and builds the systems that do it, so the people in the business get their time back for the work they were hired for.
How Rote works
- One process at a time. A clearly defined job, never "your whole operation". Narrow scope is what makes a fixed price and a fixed date possible.
- Fixed price, working in 30 days. The price is agreed before any work starts. If the system is not live within 30 days of access, the balance is not payable.
- Built on your own accounts. Everything runs on your own tools and infrastructure. You own it from day one, and it keeps running if you stop working with Rote.
- People stay in charge. Rote does not build systems that make final decisions about people. Anything that evaluates someone produces a recommendation for your team to review, and messages to your clients are approved by a person before they send.
What Rote is not
Rote does not sell software or lock you into a platform. The tools that make automation possible are now cheap and widely available. What most businesses lack is the time and know-how to work out which job to automate, what the rules should be, and what should happen when something goes wrong. That is the work Rote does.
Who you work with
Jake Backhouse founded Rote and does the work himself, from the first conversation to the handover. The person you speak to on the first call is the person who builds your system.
